No. If you are deemed qualified to participate in the internship programs but do not have a TOEFL or IELTS score then we may be able to arrange a preliminary test before you depart to Canada.
2.Do I have to go to class everyday?
Yes. Classes are conducted five days a week, Monday to Friday. You must maintain a satisfactory attendance record or you may be expelled from the school.
3.Canadian immigration regulations require that you study for at least the same number of weeks as the internship portion of the program. What does that mean?
It means that the length of internship cannot exceed 50% of the whole length of the program.
For example, if the length of the program is 24 weeks then you may only study English for 12 weeks followed by internship for 12 weeks. You may also study English for 20 weeks and do internship for 4 weeks. However, you may not study English for 10 weeks and do internship for 14 weeks.
4.In which cities are these programs available?
You will study in Toronto or Vancouver, depending on your choice of location. Internships will also be placed in these two cities except for the English for Customer Service & Tourism Program (#2) where you will travel to the beautiful Rocky Mountains for the work placement component of your study.
5.Will I get any salary and how much?
Programs #1 to #3 are paid work placements. Your pay will vary according to your position and location of your work. In general, pay will be around and above minimum wage. To see the list of minimum wage in Canadian provinces, click this link: http://canadaonline.about.com/library/bl/blminwage.htm
6.What accommodation options are available?
For the first 3-4 weeks we recommend Roomstay or Homestay. It is the most economical and hassle free option until you are adjusted to living in Canada. Afterwards, you can always extend or explore other options.
7.Will my English improve?
