Canadian colleges are recognized for their top quality industry focused programs. Students usually attend college in Canada if they are interested in entering a specific type of job. Most Canadian colleges are public colleges which are subsidized by government.

Canadian colleges offer certificate, diploma, graduate certificates and diplomas even undergraduate programs which Canadian students use to advance their careers.

There are many colleges in Canada and they have a wide variety of programs which reflects the regional needs of the local population. In Canada, education is the responsibility of provincial governments, which means colleges have slightly different programs and requirements depending on the province in which they are located.

Generally Canadian colleges are considered great for students that know which industry they would like to enter. Many university graduates enter college programs to gain industry specific experience because most college programs offer co-operative education with paid work experience.

Often, international students who do not possess the qualifications to directly enter universities in Canada will study in a college in Canada and transfer their credits to the university of their choice.

Many international students also choose to study in colleges in Canada since, in general, tuition fee in colleges are lower to that of the universities'.
